Collaborative Working Between Students
Enabling Collaborative Working between Students within the Further Education Sector using Skype for Business.
Transcript for Collaborative Working Between Students Video
A local college has introduced Unified Communications platform, Skype for Business to enable easier collaborative work between students. Diane is a student who needs to speak to two members of her study group, Jamie and Amy, about a project they are collaborating on. Today they are all working at different locations so Diane uses Skype for Business to check they are available, and initiates an instant message to both of them. Jamie quickly replies from his laptop and Amy from her tablet.
Diane escalates the call to voice and video so they can collaborate more efficiently. After discussing the progress of their project Diane shares her screen with Jamie, Diane can even pass control of the document to Jamie so he can edit it directly. The group have some questions and decide they need to consult with their tutor, Diane can see from his presence indicator that he is available and simply drags and drops him into the call.
Using this platform not only enables more efficient working between students but also allows them to interact more easily with their teachers and even helps them become competent in the use of technology they will soon be using in the workplace.
