The job of the Financial Accountant will be to enhance the finance team and generate new ideas and practises and to support the Head of Finance in all aspects of financial and management accounting.
You will be required to provide and present accurate and timely financial and non-financial information to the Head of Finance and senior management and report on performance against forecasts and budgets. You will also have responsibility for day-to-day cash and risk management activities to include foreign currency and interest rate protection.
RESPONSIBILITIES: a) All aspects of financial accounting in accordance with UK GAAP. b) Mentoring and development of two Financial Accounting Assistants. c) Ratio and variance analysis reporting. d) Overhead cost analysis and suggestions for reduction. e) Stock and work-in-progress analysis and reporting. f) Sales and profit margin analysis. g) All aspects of payroll including commissions and HMRC matters. h) Financial, ERP and Payroll system administration. i) Interim and year-end accounts and associated audit schedules and working papers. j) Fixed asset register maintenance & reporting. k) VAT accounting and reporting.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: a) ACA, ACCA or CIMA part-qualified. b) Previous financial accounting experience. c) Extensive IT application experience in particular payroll software, financial systems and Excel d) Knowledge of Payroll legislation. e) Knowledge of Audit schedules and working papers. f) Calculation and interpretation of accounting ratios
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE a) Working knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS would be highly desirable.
