Freedom adds data division in response to customer demands

Freedom, the leading voice and data integrator, has launched a new data division to capitalise on demand for network provision requested from its customers.

The new data division will offer customers LAN (local area network), WAN (wide area network) and wireless network design, provision and management.    It will also offer a range of network security products.  As part of this expansion, Freedom has appointed extended its range of core vendors introducing Cisco and HP as well as Alcatel.

To support the new division, it has appointed Paul MacDonald as its new Business Development Manager.  Paul has over 14 years experience in the data market, working for leading names such as Luminous Networks and Xpert Systems.

Freedom will initially be targeting its extensive voice customer base to highlight the cost and efficiency benefits of combining voice and data suppliers together, and to educate the market of the logic of convergence.

Tom Perry, head of marketing, Freedom, commented:
“The creation of our data division is a natural extension of our business, we have asked our voice customer base whether they would be attracted by Freedom managing their data network as well as voice and their answer was extremely positive.”

“We see the division as a key growth area for 2007 and we are actively recruiting new staff to cope with the anticipated demand.  We also look forward to working with best-of-breed data vendors such as Cisco and HP, alongside our key vendor Alcatel.”

We are convinced that a true convergence provider needs to have data and desktop support skill in order to be able to serve customers properly and this is the next stage of Freedom’s development.

We are very excited about our research findings from within our customer base which has shown that a very high percentage of SME customers no want to deal with one technology provider for voice, data and desktop support.
